Candlelit evenings are back every Saturday until October 3, 2020!
Booking a timeslot online is mandatory to visit the château.
A night out of time and history
Since 1980, the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte proposes to the visitors a dreamlike and unique experience: the candlelit visit of the château and its gardens! Rediscover the 33 hectares of formal gardens created by André Le Nôtre, the marvellous architecture of Louis Le Vau and Charles Le Brun’s sumptuous paintings by the flickering lights of 2 000 candles…*
First château to propose candlelit visits, Vaux-le-Vicomte invites you to a night out of time and history, to recapture the magic of the famous party of August 17, 1661.
* For safety reasons and to protect the monument, the natural lightening is sometimes recreated with artificial candles inside the château.
|New! This year, the water show will be running during candlelit evenings, before sunset. (Click here to consult the exact schedule.)|
To end this magical evening, fireworks are displayed every Saturday night to the enchanting sound of the Gold and Silver waltz by Franz Lehar.
A romantic moment to share
Over a fine dinner at the Charmilles restaurant, overlooking the enlightened château and formal gardens, for a simpler meal at the Relais de l’Ecureuil or quietly installed at the Songe de Vaux with a champagne glass and macaroons listening to baroque music ; each visitor enjoys magical moments, contemplating the harmony of a complete work of art of the 17th century.
(Caution : after the fireworks, you may anticipate 20 minutes walking from the Water Mirror to the parking lot to take the 11.30 shuttle to Paris Gare de Lyon)
Privatisation of the dôme with champagne!
Enjoy a unique romantic and intimate moment at the top of the monument with a magical view over the candlelit estate, while 2000 candles illuminate the French formal garden as the sun sets…
Is there a more unique experience? Yes! Book the 11 PM timeslot and launch the fireworks yourself!
A head waiter will be serving glasses of champagne as you enjoy this VIP and timeless moment… (One bottle of Duval-Leroy champagne per privatisation)
