The Great Easter Egg Hunt at Vaux-le-Vicomte

With the arrival of spring, the Estate opens its gates wide to welcome visitors for the largest Easter egg hunt in France. This cherished springtime tradition has become an unmissable event, where families and friends share moments of joy and wonder in a beautiful green setting.

This new edition invites visitors of all ages to step into a whimsical world inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Mischievous and delightfully talkative animals, refined porcelain tea sets and decorations inspired by the famous tea-time scene create an atmosphere that is elegant, poetic and gently fantastical. For the occasion, the Grand Salon will be entirely transformed.

Egg Hunts for All Ages

At Vaux-le-Vicomte, Easter becomes an adventure for everyone. Five large-scale egg hunts have been designed so that each generation can take on its own challenge.

Families will progress together along a route suitable for all ages. In one of these five hunts, adults will even have a leading role to play, while children cheer them on in their search.

Throughout the walk, actors from the Compagnie des Arlequins bring the estate’s emblematic animals to life. These delightfully eccentric characters appear along the path, creating unexpected encounters filled with humour, surprises and charming secrets about the gardens.

The most attentive visitors may also discover the mystery squirrel, carefully hidden somewhere within the estate. Keep your eyes open and your ears alert: when the bell rings, the festivities begin. Lucky winners will receive an additional gourmet prize from the chocolatier Leonidas.

Activities for the family

Alongside the traditional egg hunts, children can take part in face-painting and creative workshops held in the estate outbuildings.

They will also be able to enjoy giant wooden games in the gardens, as well as pony rides.

Visitors may also hire a club car (available from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm).

And of course, do not miss the visit of the château itself, where period costumes are available to hire (no reservation required). You may also climb to the dome to enjoy a panoramic view over the château rooftops and gardens (from 1.35 m in height).
