Les Charmilles Kiosk

Tucked away along the formal French gardens, Les Charmilles Kiosk invites you to enjoy a delightful break in the heart of the estate.

Set on a terrace with an uninterrupted view of the château and its gardens designed by Le Nôtre, it offers the perfect setting to relax. Whether for a light bite, a sweet treat or a drink in the sunshine, it is an ideal place to pause during your visit.

Designed as a convivial stop, the kiosk offers a selection of carefully prepared light refreshments, to be enjoyed at your own pace.

Les Charmilles Kiosk

Open every Saturday from May 16 to September 26, 2026, during the Candlelit Evenings.

Take a moment to unwind, comfortably settled in a deckchair on our terrace overlooking the splendid French gardens designed by Le Nôtre.

With its homemade treats, fine foods, and carefully selected wines and champagnes, this pop-up champagne bar celebrates the French art of living in an enchanting setting.

Come and experience a moment suspended between sophistication and the gentle warmth of summer.

 

 

Les Charmilles Kiosk

A pop-up gastronomic restaurant.

Every Saturday evening from May 16 to September 26, as well as Sunday, July 13 and Friday, August 15, Les Charmilles invites you to a unique fine dining experience in the magical setting of the Candlelit Evenings.

Located on the West Courtyard Terrace or indoors in the event of bad weather, this ephemeral restaurant offers breathtaking views of the château and its candlelit French gardens.

Practical information

An admission ticket is required to access all restaurants within the estate.

 Reservation is required.

In case of unfavorable weather (rain or temperatures below 18°C), dinner will be served indoors – without diminishing the charm of the experience. The decision is made every Saturday morning based on weather forecasts.

Les Charmilles Kiosk

The modern-day picnic has its roots in the 17th century, when it became a true art of living, favored by the aristocracy. At Vaux-le-Vicomte, this tradition lives on in a setting of unmatched beauty, blending nature and elegance.

Reservation required at least 48 hours in advance.

The estate’s Chef offers a refined picnic basket filled with fresh, local products to enjoy in the dedicated picnic areas of the gardens.

Available upon reservation at least 48 hours in advance, baskets can be collected from the Relais de l’Écureuil between 12 noon and 2 pm, or between 6.30 pm and 9.30 pm during Candlelit Evenings, and must be returned before the end of your visit.

A  proof of identity will be required upon collection.

Designated picnic areas are clearly signposted at the entrance of the estate, offering a unique and timeless setting.

⚠️ Re-entry is not permitted once you leave the estate – be sure to bring everything you need upon arrival.

Les Charmilles Kiosk

Located just past the entrance gate, in the château’s outbuildings, Le Relais de l’Écureuil invites you to relax and enjoy a simple yet generous meal. This self-service, family-friendly restaurant is ideal for a leisurely lunch or sweet break in a charming and authentic setting.

Our cuisine celebrates the great traditions of French cooking. Carefully prepared using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, our homemade dishes combine authenticity and a sense of togetherness in the spirit of refined home cooking.

 

Practical information

  • No prior booking required.
  • An admission ticket is required to access the restaurant.
  • For groups of over 20 people, please book in advance: commercial@vaux-le-vicomte.fr.

Expect to pay around €28 for a full meal (starter, main course, dessert).

Payment methods accepted: cash, credit cards, checks, Chèques-Vacances ANCV, and meal vouchers (except on Sundays).

Opening hours: Every open day of the estate, from 12:00 pm to 5:30 pm (hot meal service until 3:00 pm).
