Learning differently in a timeless setting
At Vaux-le-Vicomte, every visit is an invitation to discover history in a new way. The château, its gardens and collections become a living stage for joyful learning, at the crossroads of theatre, play, and discovery.
Designed to spark curiosity, engage the senses, and enrich knowledge, our offerings are suitable for pupils from kindergarten through to high school.

An exceptional setting for educational awakening
Vaux-le-Vicomte provides a unique environment to explore school curricula from a fresh perspective:
Visits can be organised as either half-day or full-day experiences:
Morning (10:00am–1:30pm): focus on an indoor château visit at a preferential rate:
- €8.00 per student for kindergarten
- €9.00 per student for primary school
- €9.50 per student for middle and high school
Afternoon: the formal French garden and Carriage Museum offer a perfect continuation of the experience.
These rates apply on weekdays (Monday to Friday) for groups of at least 20 students (up to 17 years old).
For afternoon visits, weekends and public holidays, a higher group rate applies: €11.00 per student.
Free admission for chaperones: 1 free adult for every 11 students.
A sheltered picnic area is available near the parking lot.
During the festive season, Vaux-le-Vicomte invites students to experience the magic of Christmas in an enchanting setting that combines heritage and wonder.
The estate welcomes school visits from Wednesday to Sunday, then daily during the Christmas holidays, from 10:30am to 6:30pm.
Weekday self-guided visits are offered at:
- €9.00 per student (kindergarten)
- €10.00 per student (primary school)
- €10.50 per student (middle and high school)
One free adult per 11 students. A pre-visit request is required for reconnaissance visits after booking (contact: 01 64 14 42 54 / nathalie@vaux-le-vicomte.fr).
Outings & Group Visits
A place of memory and life, Vaux-le-Vicomte welcomes groups as privileged guests in a residence that is both majestic and warm. Nicolas Fouquet’s dream made reality offers endless opportunities for discovery — cultural, festive, or gourmet. Whether for a visit, an event, or a shared moment, the estate opens its doors with elegance, simplicity, and generosity.
From January to March, when the estate is closed to the general public, groups of 50 or more can book a special private opening by reservation. For more information, contact: commercial@vaux-le-vicomte.fr.
Highlights of the 2026 Season
Throughout the year, Vaux-le-Vicomte comes alive with immersive events that transform each visit into a timeless experience — a blend of past and present:
- March 14, 2026 : Reopening of the estate
- April 4,5 and 6 : The Grand Easter Egg Hunt
- May 16- September 26 (Saturday evenings), July 13 & August 15: Candlelit Evenings
- May 23 : Grand Siècle Day
- November 16, 2026 – January 4, 2027: The Grand Christmas (closed on Mondays and Tuesdays outside school holidays, and on 25/12 & 01/01)

- “Grand Siècle Day” E-code: valid only on May 31, 2025
