Vaux-le-Vicomte, a Living Expression of French Excellence

Since 1661, Vaux-le-Vicomte has embodied the dream of Nicolas Fouquet brought to life: both a majestic palace and a welcoming home, a stage for sumptuous celebrations and a warm family residence.

Born from the collaboration between Louis Le Vau, André Le Nôtre and Charles Le Brun, Vaux-le-Vicomte is the first masterpiece of the Grand Siècle and the inspiration behind the Palace of Versailles.

Yet Vaux-le-Vicomte is more than an architectural model: it is a living residence.

Today preserved by the de Vogüé family, it remains inhabited, open and shared. Each season, the estate welcomes visitors as privileged guests and presents an ambitious programme of cultural and seasonal events.
