Great news for lovers of heritage… and their four-legged companions! Following a successful trial conducted last October, Vaux-le-Vicomte will officially welcome dogs to the estate from the 2026 season onwards.

Visitors will now be able to enjoy the gardens with their dogs on weekdays, including public holidays, excluding weekends and event periods. This initiative responds to strong demand from the public and our visitors, who wish to share their walks with their pets in André Le Nôtre’s famous French formal gardens.

The trial carried out last autumn confirmed that this new policy is fully compatible with the careful preservation and maintenance of the site, which is listed as a Historic Monument. It marks a further step in Vaux-le-Vicomte’s commitment to offering an ever more welcoming experience that reflects the expectations of its visitors.

To ensure a harmonious and respectful coexistence, a few simple rules will apply: dogs must remain on a lead at all times, owners must ensure the cleanliness of the grounds, and access to the interior of the château will remain strictly reserved for human visitors.

Strolling through the park’s majestic perspectives, walking alongside the ornamental canals and admiring the sculptures while sharing the moment with one’s dog will now be possible in this unique historic setting.

In 2026, Vaux-le-Vicomte reaffirms its spirit of openness and invites visitors to experience the estate in a new way—always with respect for the site and its exceptional heritage.
