Online booking is mandatory. Please reserve your time slot for the castle visit by purchasing your ticket in advance. (You can exchange your tickets up to 3 days before your visit through your personal profile under the “My tickets” tab.)
DATES AND TIMES :
From November 16 to December 20 :Open from Wednesday to Sunday, 10:30 am to 6:30 pm (last entry to the estate).
Christmas holidays from December 21 to January 5, 2024: Open daily from 10:30 am to 6:30 pm (last entry to the estate), except on December 24 and 31: from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm (last entry to the estate).
Closed on December 25 and January 1.

The Grand Noël of Vaux-le-Vicomte
For the 19th edition of its “Grand Noël,” Vaux-le-Vicomte offers visitors a magical journey into the enchanting world of fairy tales, bringing to life the great classics that have shaped our childhood.
In the château
The crackling fireplaces and stunning decorations will transport you into a magical world alongside characters like The Nutcracker, Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks, Alice in Wonderland, and many more.
Guest of Honor : Bastien Blanc-Tailleur
Vaux-le-Vicomte has always been a place of inspiration and creation. Continuing this tradition, this year’s Christmas decor in the Buffet Room is designed by our guest of honor: Bastien Blanc-Tailleur, a true pastry prodigy recently named the world’s most creative pastry chef by La Liste 2024.
He has imagined a whimsical scene inspired by Alice in Wonderland’s famous tea ceremony, with bouncing chairs, piled-up dishes, a grand bazaar atmosphere, and an abundance of cakes of all sizes.
In the garden
This year, Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte offers a magical new experience with the installation of a temporary skating rink for the first time.
Enjoy many activities like a treasure hunt for children, marshmallow toasting, animated coloring, and illuminations, all while exploring this beautiful garden masterpiece by Le Nôtre.

Finally, a architectural mapping show on the château’s facade will tell the story of Vaux-le-Vicomte.

“Once Upon a Time at Vaux-le-Vicomte”
1000 m² of the façade is magnified by an architectural mapping show.
This creation tells the story of Vaux-le-Vicomte through various scenes.
- Schedule : 6.00 pm – 6.30 pm – 7.00 pm (on December 24 and 31, a single projection will take place at 5:30 pm)
- Duration : +/- 12 minutes
The projection may occasionally be disrupted by technical problems or bad weather conditions.

The skating rink
For the first time, a temporary skating rink is set up in the heart of the majestic French formal garden.
Ice, a winter sky, twinkling lights, and the château… an enchanting setting straight out of a fairy tale, where children and adults alike can skate.

- Gloves strongly recommended
- Children must be accompanied by an adult

HIGHLIGHTS
Treasure Hunt In the Footsteps of Tom Thumb
A Little Thumb-inspired adventure leads children, with a parchment in hand, on a quest to find clues and follow the path to a coveted surprise!

- Schedule : 10.30 am – 6.30 pm
- No additional charge
Horse-drawn carriage rides – 11.00 am to 6.00pm (end of rides)
Take a break and enjoy the beauty of the French formal garden from a higher perspective aboard the château’s carriages.
- Duration : 10 minutes
- Prices : €5 for children under 10 and €7 for adults (payment by check or cash on-site)
- Dates :Every Wednesday and weekend, then daily during school holidays (except December 25 and January 1).

The Animated Editions
An interactive coloring workshop based on Andersen’s fairy tales is offered in the château’s outbuildings (no booking required). The magic happens when the drawing comes to life after being colored in!

The Château Boutique
A space brimming with little treasures and beautiful objects: gourmet treats, toys and games, home decor, accessories—there’s something for everyone. At the end of the year, you’ll find a wide range of Christmas decorations for the home, the tree, table settings, and more. It’s the perfect place to find the ideal gift or simply treat yourself!
A varied dining experience
At Vaux-le-Vicomte, you can enjoy a delicious break. The Relais de l’Écureuil, our family self-service restaurant with homemade meals, welcomes you for a convivial lunch or a comforting snack. To extend the magic, two kiosks located in the garden offer gourmet snacks and hot drinks, perfect for warming up between activities. A varied menu, ideal for making the most of this festive period!
